INSULATING GLASS

Insulated units (also known as DGU’s or IGU’s) consist of two layers of glass separated by an air or argon filled gap.

The combination of multiple glass panels and airspace creates an additional barrier that decreases the air- to-air temperature transfer, while reducing direct and radiant temperature transfer from outside or inside the building.

Insulated units are most effective when combined with Low-E performance glass and argon gas.

Where applicable, larger spacer widths are encouraged as this increases the performance of the unit.

DIMENSIONS

Min size 12” X 12”
Max size may vary according to glass thickness.
Unit thickness from 1/4 inch up to 2.93 inch

AVALIABLE CONFIGURATIONS

Insulating glass units can be done with heat strengthened glass, fully tempered glass or laminated glass depeding of the code requirements. Also Low E glass can be added to the configuration to decrease the Solar Heat Gain coeficient and U Value of the units.
